The Americana Music Association will announce the nominees for the 2016 Americana Honors & Awards ceremony, presented by the musicFIRST Coalition, on Wednesday, May 11 at 7 PM ET/4 PM PT, through NPR Music's Facebook Livestream, from the historic Mansion on O Street in Washington, DC.
Sturgill Simpson’s new album A Sailor’s Guide to Earth hit the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Top Country, Folk and Rock charts this week. Mr. Simpson’s album was also the largest selling record of new releases across all genres according to Billboard.

The Americana Music Association Board of Directors convened for its annual retreat on February 25-26, announcing its newly appointed Executive Committee and setting task oriented goals for the future of the resolute not-for-profit organization.
The Americana Music Association wishes to congratulate Jason Isbell and Mavis Staples on their GRAMMY® wins last night. Isbell took home hardware for Best American Roots Song category for “24 Frames” and Best Americana Album category for Something More Than Free, which was produced by the inimitable Dave Cobb. Ms. Staples took home the trophy in the Best American Roots Performance category for “See That My Grave Is Kept Clean.”
