(Nashville, Tenn.) April 1, 2016 - The Americana Music Association expands its festival and conference in its 17th year by announcing its most ambitious kickoff event ever featuring The Lumineers at the Ascend Amphitheater Tuesday, September 20th.

Admission to The Lumineers show will be a separate ticketed event, co-produced by AEG Live and will go on sale to the general public Friday, April 8 at 10 AM via TICKETMASTER. The Lumineers Fan Club members will have a special pre-sale opportunity starting on Tuesday, April 5. All new fan club members must sign up at www.thelumineers.com before Monday, April 4 in order to be eligible.

“We’re very excited to have the Americana Music Association presenting our show at Ascend Amphitheater.  Nashville is a very special place for us, aside from our love of the amazing music scene and history,  both our label Dualtone and agent are based there, and it's where we mixed the new album.” - Wesley Schultz

AmericanaFest – described by Mojo as “the roots music alternative to the GRAMMY’s and SXSW” will bring more than 200 artists to multiple venues around music city including 3rd & Lindsley, The Basement, City Winery, High Watt, Cannery Ballroom, Mercy Lounge, The Family Wash, Station Inn, Downtown Presbyterian Church and The 5 Spot, to name a few.  The daytime conference, Nashville’s most comprehensive, will feature the best and the brightest in the music industry kicking off with a keynote address from legendary producer T Bone Burnett.  The capstone event of the week-long roots music celebration is the Americana Honors & Awards program taking place at the historically cool Ryman Auditorium on Wednesday, September 21. The growth of Americana as a genre - curated and cultivated by the Americana Music Association - is evidenced by recent partnerships with JP Harris and Wildwood Revival’s "Ensemble' Dans Ce Bateau" on April 10 in Nashville, and Lincoln Center for "AmericanaFest NYC.”  The fledgling not for profit has experienced tremendous growth in recent years buoyed by the inclusion of multiple GRAMMY categories created for the American Roots Field and the recent addition of the UK Americana Sales Chart announced in early February.
