The Americana Music Association℠ Partners with CDX Nashville to Launch Monitored Americana Radio Airplay Albums Chart, Debut Singles Chart on Jan. 16

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 9, 2018) -- The Americana Music Association℠ in conjunction with CDX Nashville, a leading digital music distribution and tracking company, will be launching a monitored Americana Radio Airplay Albums Chart and debuting a Singles Chart on January 16. The data for both charts will be based on monitored Americana radio airplay.

This new partnership will enable CDX Nashville to implement their unique monitored airplay system to the Americana format. Utilizing their own patent-pending song recognition technology, the service will monitor terrestrial broadcast station signals that are being streamed over the internet as well as take into account internet-based radio streams. Song detections will be tracked in real-time and then reported to paid subscribers through the CDX TRACtion web-based interface.

"We are thrilled to partner with CDX Nashville and their incredibly supportive team," said Jed Hilly, Executive Director of the Americana Music Association℠. "With their innovative platform and the debut of our new Singles Chart, we hope to bring our Americana radio charts to another level where we can continue to justly serve our artists in the community and their music being played across the country."

These new monitored airplay charts will provide an accurate and transparent representation of all Americana albums and song tracks that are encoded into the CDX TRACtion database by the radio chart editor.

In addition, the data presented in CDX TRACtion will provide the basis for the new Americana Radio Airplay Albums Chart and Singles Chart, which will be published on and will continue to be emailed on a weekly basis to anyone who joins the mailing list, here, beginning on Tuesday, January 16.

Michele Rhoades who oversees radio development at the association will remain as chart editor.

"It is our belief that monitored airplay tracking will allow promoters, labels and artists to more accurately measure success and optimize their marketing and promotion efforts," said CDX Nashville VP Joe Kelly.

By adopting CDX Nashville's signature monitored airplay service, the Americana Music Association℠ believes that this partnership will inherently streamline the chart reporting process and yield its most legitimate radio charts to date backed by concrete data to ultimately benefit radio programmers, promoters, labels and most importantly, artists.

About CDX

CDX was founded in 1991 by late Country Music Hall of Fame Broadcaster Charlie Douglas and national record promotion veteran Paul Lovelace as a delivery system for labels and artists to supply their upcoming singles to all full-time US country stations, satellite providers, syndicators, and programming consultants. In 1991, CDX clients’ music was distributed via the then new medium of CD. Today, our clients’ singles are digitally distributed via InstaTrack e-blast, integration into our smart phone app, and also included on our regular CD compilation disc. CDX clients include a ‘who’s who’ of Country Music artists: all the greats from George Strait, Garth Brooks, Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert and many more over our 25 year history.
